Angelica

A little more about me

Frontend is my craft. The fundamentals are my foundation.

I'm Angelica, a frontend engineer and product builder from Manila, now based in Brisbane. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and I've built my career since then across web development and enterprise product teams. I'm currently pursuing a Master of Information Technology at Queensland University of Technology, deepening my focus on AI and project leadership.

So far, each step has widened the work.

Early in my career, alongside my IT studies, I worked in content operations and digital marketing—managing global assets, intranets, websites, and campaigns. That work taught me how digital experiences connect people, systems, and business goals.

I wanted to understand more of what happened behind the screen, so I moved into web development. I built marketing sites and reusable AEM components, then joined product and R&D teams where I worked on React dashboards that turned complex network data into something people could understand and use.

Freelance work widened that view again. I worked directly with clients, planned projects, translated needs into tickets and acceptance criteria, and stayed with products through launch, maintenance, and change. I was no longer thinking only about the interface. I was thinking about what should be built, why it mattered, and how to move it forward.

Frontend is my foundation, supported by experience delivering production interfaces, working across product teams, and carrying projects from early requirements through launch and ongoing improvement. Through my Master of Information Technology at QUT, I'm adding depth in AI and project leadership while continuing to grow as a product-minded engineer.

A few principles I keep returning to.

  1. 01

    Make the next step clear.

Good interfaces reduce uncertainty. I look for the detail, word, or interaction that helps everything click into place.

  2. 02

    Ask before assuming.

The quality of the solution usually follows the quality of the questions. I like understanding the real problem before reaching for code.

  3. 03

    Build for after launch.

I work in Agile iterations—small releases, real feedback, steady adjustment—because thoughtful work should keep holding up as a product changes. I care about maintainable systems as much as the experience on the screen.
